The E.Mag has made a blog! We're able make more frequent fashion posts hopefully involving you! Please with whipped cream and a cherry on top submit anything you are involved in as far as fashion and art is concerned. That means photo shoots for models and photographers, as well as pictures of your work if you're an artist or designer.
We'd also like to feature must have items that you find online, and cute little side projects like making your own dress or necklace or something. You will be credited for the find and so will all involved.
We're very thankful to have a good amount of local photographers who are interested in being a part of the E.Mag in one way or another, so if you're a model who'd like to feature another photographer's work just tell us who the photographer is and we'll double check with them for you. Everyone involved does get credit on the blog! If you'd like to ask the photographer for permission... just have them send us a quick email with the okay for our reassurance! 2010 Art and Fashion Spectacular Extreme Smokey Eye

At this year's Art and Fashion Spectacular hosted by Nikki Todd and Joe VanDyke there were four amazing designers who chose some gorgeous hair and makeup looks to complement their collections! I loved them all! One of my favorite looks of the evening was the "Extreme Smokey Eye" chosen by Erin Rossie Healy. The beautiful and talented model shown wearing the smokey eye is Jessica Soler. I had the honor of doing her makeup for her appearance in Erin's show. For anyone who is interested in recreating this look on themselves for an event or a night out I'll leave the instructions below. Enjoy! It looks amazing on just about everyone!

1. Start with a clean, moisturized face and apply your shade of foundation and concealor until your skin looks as flawless as you would like it to be. Then dust your skin with a light layer of powder to set. (Some people can just skip the foundation all together... lucky!)
2. Brush your brows into place and fill in lightly where there is hair to create a solid frame for your face.
3. Apply an eye shadow base from your eyelid to slightly above your crease. I used Smashbox "Photo Op".
4. Now it's time for the extreme. Take a black eye pencil to line the lashline on your top lid and just the outside corner on the bottom. Don't line the entire bottom; Leave some room on the inside corner of the eye. After you have done the lashline take your black liner and make a slight cat eye line on both sides; Draw a line from the top of the cat line over the lid and connect it to the top, inner lashline; this will set the perimeter for the smokey eye. Once the perimeter has been set on both sides and you are sure that it's even you can go ahead and fill in the triangle with the black pencil. I used M.A.C. Eye Khol in "Smolder".
5. Next use a soft eye shadow brush and apply black powder eye shadow to the entire lid. Slightly blend the harsh perimeter lines with the eyeshadow. This will leave just the right amount of blending for the "Extreme Smokey Eye".
6. The inner corners of the eyes were adorned with shiney metallics. On Jessica's eyes I used a silver liquid liner to line the entire inner corner. I dabbed it with my ring finger to soften the line. You can use powders to acheive the same look.
7. Apply heavy mascara to upper and lower lashes. I used "Diorshow". P.S. False lashes look great with a smokey eye!
8. I contoured Jessica's cheeks with bronzer placed slightly below her cheek bones and blended to create a nude cheek.
9. On Jessica's lips I used her shade of concealor to mute her lips and applied a clear gloss to give her a moisturized nude lip. You can do the same with your color concealor/foundation or you could skip the step of concealor and just use a clear gloss for a more natural lip look.

The naturally artistic fashion stylist, designer, and model Lauren Rossi knew as her eyes fell on this fabulous vintage, classic looking swimsuit that she needed to make it the center of attention for a vintage day at the beach photoshoot that was slightly out-of-the-box. To bring this classically ellegant vision of her's to life, Lauren knew she could count on the very talented photographer, Stephanie Sasseville, to capture and highlight the vivid red, black, and white hued flowers adorning the fabric that makes this swimsuit the beauty that it is. As soon as Lauren described her beautiful inspiration to me I knew I wanted her to have a classic look of luxury. To me, that said cherry red lips, and delicate hair that looks like it's been swept glamorously up into a scarf to protect it from the sun and salty sea winds. I was excited to be spending that gorgeous Saturday morning at the beach with two of the most talented and inspired ladies I've had the pleasure of shooting with. This session has been affectionately named "Grandma's Swimsuit" as an endearing tribute to the classic polaroids we've all pulled out of our grandmother's precious photo trunks.

Life is beautiful. There's so much to see, so much to think about, so much to be. The world has such an abundance of ellegance that it's hard to settle with anything at all while marveling at the magnitude of ideas, inspirations, quotations, and images pulling at the strings of our hearts.
The beauty that speaks it's boldest to me is found in the creativity of fashion and conceptual photography, mind bogglingly cute shoes garnished with all the glitz and rinestones a shoe can hold, and gorgeous accessories designed by true artists and brought to life solely for the pleasure of our inner princesses.
The fashion photography I speak of is displayed absolutely everywhere. You might find it a bit tiring to hear that saying again and again, but for me the inspiration is flowing and exploding like A.D.D. on the pages, covers, sites of Nylon, Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire, Bazaar, Model Mayhem, and yes I'll say it... just about everywhere. I'm inspired by Coca Cola bottles, a piece of glitter on the rug, even my little white pomeranian snoozing cozily on my bare shoulders.

When Michelle Dearing of Oeil Photography asked me to join her for a fun fashion test shoot, I eagerly jumped at the opportunity to play and get a little crazy with an amazing photographer capturing all the evidence! I knew from my previous shoots with Michelle that this was going to be uber fun and relaxed.
A very pleasant suprise to me was our stunningly good looking model Sarah DeLucca, whom I'd had the pleasure of meeting for her engagement shoot with her fiance Brennan. Sarah and Michelle had been wanting to shoot something interesting together and this was our chance. Sarah came into this project with an open, trusting spirit and rocked the entire shoot! Our fashion-forward model is adorned from neck to ankles in a sophisticated black lace jumpsuit straight from her very own well-styled closet. The boldness of her entire look is inspired by a rock-n-rollesque 80's starlit. It was such a great time that the only thing standing in the way from going all night was well... it was getting late.
